Normal operating speeds are up to 15 MPH with our pull-type models. With these speeds, we are getting better than 8 acres per hour with our 10' pull type units. Our tractor-mounted unit operating speed is on average 4-10 MPH (depending on lay of the land).
The chemical of choice is a 41% glyphosphate, using 20-parts water and one-part chemical. This mixture will have a chemical cost of $0.20 to $0.60 per acre, depending upon weed density. This inexpensive, yet very effective, application helps quickly to pay back the cost of the GrassWorks Weed Wiper™ in chemical savings.
Unit sizes are available to meet your operational needs. Three-foot to six-foot units fits the need for burn down applications in nursery, landscape, vineyard, orchard, strawberry & tree farms. Deflectors are available for vineyard & berry operations to protect your produce from being damaged during the wiping process.
Our 6', 8', 10', 12' & 15' units are most popular for hay & pasture farmers. The GrassWorks Weed Wiper™ will kill any weeds it comes in contact with including Johnson grass, thistles, ragweed, smut grass, pigweeds, and others at minimum cost and time. Our theory for this application is: "If the livestock don't eat it, we don't need it."
Row crop and large truck farm operations have the option of hydraulically-driven units ranging from 6' to 40 , with the capability of adjusting the height of the roller using the 3-point linkage. These operations have discovered the GrassWorks Weed Wiper™ is a very economical weed control system. With the capability of adjusting the height of the wiper, this allows application during different stages of crop growth. Foam markers are available for all units.
